Caring for your hair extensions
Select a good quality hair care range designed for your hair type or hair extensions
When shampooing the scalp allow your fingers to get in between the tape particularly at the nape area, gently not vigorously scrubbing
Always use a wide tooth comb and never put tension on the hair when combing or brushing
We would recommend using a serum or leave in conditioning spray in your hair right after conditioning to help comb through the ends of the extensions
Never brush the hair when wet wide tooth comb only
You should allow a few days after your initial service before shampooing to allow the tape to settle effectively.
It's not a good idea to use any oil or alcohol based products near the roots as it may loosen the tape
Colouring your hair - Jon le Court hair extensions
Yes you can colour your Jon le Court professional hair extensions, it's not recommended that you lighten them but darker and tone on tone is ok, professional colouring is advised its not quite the same as colouring your own hair.
Removal
It's very common to notice excess hair loss when removing your Jon le Court tape wefts, its very little in comparison to glue applications but it natural for most heads of hair to shed between 80 to 100 strands of hair everyday so don’t worry.
Under no circumstances should your attempt to remove these by yourself. Professional removal is advised and Jon le Court Professional will use a natural oil based solvent, contact us for further information
Your hair extensions will last anywhere between 6-9 weeks before they need to be readjusted
Sleeping with hair extensions
It's not essential but loosely braiding your hair extensions can help them from matting and tangling during the night
- Using a satin pillowcase is great to help the hair from knotting
- Never go to bed with wet hair extensions
Swimming with hair extensions
You can swim with hair extensions but its not recommended as the chemicals in the pool are harsh to the health of our hair extensions
Make sure you always wash your hair afterwards with a good detoxing shampoo and moisturizing conditioner to remove the chemicals
Styling your hair with heat
You can use a hot styling tool and a hairdryer on your Jon le Court Professional hair extensions providing you use a thermal heat protector prior, to prevent moisture loss
